American legion Post 105 phoenix Az

American Legion Post 105 was chartered on March 20, 1978 as Westown American Legion Post 105.  On November 10, 2010, our Post changed its name to Christopher J Lapka American Legion Post 105. We are honored to have our Post named after  U.S. Marine Corporal Christopher J. Lapka, 22, from Peoria. He was killed in action on October 30, 2004. Christopher had been in Iraq for only two weeks when the attack occurred caused by a car bomb detonated near a truck, He gave up an academic scholarship to join the military because he was so moved by the events of Sept. 11, 2001. As with most American Legion Posts throughout Arizona, Post 105 recently lost a source of income.  Since that time we have not been able to fulfill our obligations to the local communities including children and youth and the homeless veterans, as well as our moral obligations to The American Legion itself.  We feel this matter will be solved soon.  But until that time we ask for your help in keeping our Post alive and functioning with your support.

The American Legion is a vital part of our local community.  The funds collected will support the programs of the American Legion for Christopher J Lapka Post 105.  These funds will help support the local schools to send students to Amerian Legion Baseball, JR ROTC, Boy's State, Girl's State, Oratorical.  Our Post is here to provide the veterans and their familiy members within our community the support that they need.
