Need help getting a fresh start

Hey, I know I'm nobody special and you don't know me from Adam. After I graduated from college with an engineering degree, my folks began to have serious help problems. My father had beat Hodgkin's lymphoma, but only to have squamous cell carcinoma take his like after a long battle in 2015. My mother's heath continued to decline as the time went by due to years of untreated diabetes and now has a massive blockage in her heart with small clots in her brain as well. She is currently stable, but the doctors aren't giving her much time.

Where I come in, is that I needed to stay with them and help with daily chores and driving them to regular doctors visits. At the time I was working in agriculture as manual labor, farming strawberries. I ended up taking on a very nice job at a global door and manufacturing company as a software designer for one of their department quality control teams. Unfortunately, after my father's passing, my mother's health began to fail rapidly. I had planned for her to stay with her family in another, more urban area so that she may receive quality health care (it takes an hour for the local volunteer ambulance to reach where we were living). So I got her moved down and my intention was to sacrifice my programming job to relocate closer to my mother to help take care of her and be there during her last years.

Immediately after sending my mother down, I began to clear our house and started to pack our vital things up and clean the house up for the landlords. Well, I popped 4 vertebrae in my back, essentially making me worthless for almost a year. No social security, no state disability, just the kindness of friends and what I could make off the sale of our property. I'll still waiting to find out the cause.

As I am able to work again, barely, I can get by. Problem is, I have zero money and my mother's condition could nose-dive at any time. I do have one last item of worth, a vehicle, but just today I literally had my spark plugs blow out of the motor. What in the heck is that about?? Anyways, this is going to slow down the process of selling the car plus the hit in profit thanks to the repairs (not cheap). I still don't know how I will pay for the fixes, so now I cannot rely on that as a definitive resource.

A little about me, I do have a degree in Electronics Engineering from OIT, I have been involved with the Freemason organization since I was a kid in the youth groups and spent countless hours raising money for charities and offering labor as well. I have worked for Disneyland, fought fire with the USFS, driven a school bus, and volunteered countless hours on the local rural fire department and ambulance services as an EMT.

Once again, you don't know me and I don't blame you if you don't believe what I have claimed, but I hope that some of you folks out there can help me get back on my feet. I am qualified and experienced in many jobs and I know that I will not have a problem re-establishing myself in a new town, the biggest hurdle is getting settled in and that just takes money.

I wouldn't go so far as to resort to public begging, but my mother is all I have in life and I really want to be there when she leaves this world. I don't know what the future holds, but I don't want my current set-back to be the deciding factor on how I deal with the rest of my life and the memory of my family.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my plea, I hope that all will work out in the end.

Sincerely,
Eric
