Current events have taken a toll on everyone’s well-being. Have you felt it too?

My lifelong quest has been to learn what brings people joy across the world, and, specifically how this is done through celebration and the performing arts. Dance transcends language and has a direct relationship to the heart of a culture and community.

I would love to go to cities and countries where dance is appreciated, and offer my shows and workshops to new audiences, and especially to members of disadvantaged or marginalized communities.

I am determined to take the love of dance around the world to help awaken new possibilities in people’s lives.

I'm looking at a deadline of January 20th as I am leaving then, but any help after is absolutely appreciated along the adventure!

Exciting news! I’ve been invited to share my gift and teach belly and samba dance workshops and perform shows this January and February in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico!  I’m ready to go January 20!  I’ve put a heap of time and resources into creating more bookings and promotions to make this happen, but I still have a long way to go. As you can imagine, this isn't the most affordable pursuit, but, and I truly believe that it's worth a shot, so I’m giving it my all!

Imagine what I could do dancing around the world...

Rasa Vitalia teaches dance in Mexico, 11/2017:

To help me to get there, I have decided to throw an online fundraising parade! Join me in line to celebrate this opportunity to enrich the lives of people across cultures around the world.

Did you know that artist tours are self-funded?  An artist’s budget decidedly ensures true economical business traveling. When there is an opportunity to save money, I am relentless. Money is spent on necessities only. In this fundraiser, I will treat your money like it is my own. I have high hopes that I will attract audience members and students to help me pay for my travel and rental fees. I'm also booking workshops and shows to volunteer my time to perform for underpriveldged children and adults. However, there’s not always a financial guarantee. This is where you fit in.

• Economical roundtrip plane tickets – approx. $600
• Economical bus and taxi transportation - approx. $200
• Humble accommodations: – approx. $1000
• Modest meals, venue rental fees – approx. $300
• Total: $2100

As a child, I used art, dance, and music to serve me as a way to make sense of the world, through self-expression, happiness and healing through years of abuse and neglect. I was naturally creating dance shows, theatrical productions, and creating illustrative advertising for self-produced events in my own home. Art brought me great joy within a world of chaos. Though it was difficult, I am blessed to have the opportunity to learn how to heal, build my own inner resources, and find self-empowerment through the creation of art.

Young Rasa puts on shows at home:

One day a young child was sitting in a living room, eagerly wishing to play while the adults in the room were pre-occupied with personal problems. With a xylophone, the child and I began to play, dance, sing, clap and laugh. In that moment I realized: Life is not a fight, but to be welcomed, enjoyed and celebrated. That connection set the world on fire.

My mission became clear: To bring joy and the celebration of life through the great healer of entertainment: dance, music, art, and laughter.
This is my passion.

Carnaval is an annual celebration of life and an expression of culture that encapsulates music, dance, costumes, pageantry and performance that aims to bring good fortune, jubilance, cross cultural connection, and healing. By learning more about Carnaval, we can learn more about ourselves, understanding other cultures, unite the world, forget our differences and celebrate life.  Not only am I booking dance workshops and shows in Mexico, but I am hoping to do extensive research and participate in the world’s 3rd largest Carnaval in Mazatlan, Mexico. http://www.CaranvalMazatlan.net

Through artistic cultural exchange, we find commonalities, increase education and awareness, foster tolerance of diverse cultures, build bridges of peace and trust, and encourage responsible global citizenry.
