World War Two - Little Known Stories
Do you know, if the conflicts and outcomes of WW1 and WW2 had been altered, even slightly, you (and me) might not be here today.
Hard to imagine huh?
So why did we set up this GoFundMe page?
Our story starts with our passion for history.
And unwavering belief it must be kept alive, and the stories passed on through generations.
Add to our passion, an ex-military background and a curiosity about the insignia used by units, squadrons, and individuals.
Ever wonder what’s the meaning behind them? And what untold stories wait to be discovered?
Stories like this one about Flying Officer Kain DFC - the first Ace in the RAF during WW2 .
Or the daring Flying Tigers - volunteer American pilots who flew for the Chinese during WW2.
Thank You for Your Help and Support
We started our small website with a few patches collected over the years. But we didn't know a lot about them.
So we dug deep to discover their stories, and old photographs if they still existed.
But with so many units and squadrons disbanded, insignia and patches are disappearing fast.
Not only does this end the story of the men who wore them - we lose a piece of their history at the same time.
Here's How We'll Use Your Contribution:
# Expand our research. This will help us rapidly find and add patches before they disappear forever
# Invest in marketing campaigns, web site development and more customer service
# Spread the word. Make more people aware of these stories and their history via newsletters and social media
Every single contribution will bring us closer to our dream of widening our reach and sharing more history with the masses.
To tell them the stories of our war heroes who defended our shores - and the world - when everything was on the line.
This year is the75th Anniversary of D-Day, and we're aiming to capture stories about veterans who were there on the day.
Men (and women) who experienced and survived WW2. They're disappearing fast.
Also stories of others who were there during WW2. Hidden heroes who played their part in the background.
People like William Tutte, who helped change world history by deciphering the complex Lorenz Code Machine - successor to the Enigma Machine. Yet never saw one until after the war ended.
And we’d love to hear your stories too. Get in touch and tell us.
Any help you can give us will be very gratefully received. And we Thank You for your generosity.
