Wordsmith Jr, LLC is a dream come true for me. I have always wanted to empower our children and believe literacy is essential. I have self-funded Wordsmith Jr thus far and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. We have written two series of books, pulled together a team of highly talented and community based artists, secured a very supportive publisher, have produced the first two books and have had a very successful launch event.
We are proud to be a collaboration of educators, parents, students and friends. Our mission is to encourage the love of learning and reading in children by facilitating their understanding of language. We are publishing books that are both fun and challenging to young children.
There are many books and literacy tools available. Our books offer a new approach as they are designed for families to use as fun, relatable, engaging stories that specifically target language acquisition.
We are asking our friends and supporters to assist us in funding the printing and publishing of the last eight books in our two series. In order to keep the purchase cost down it is necessary to print large orders. Each book costs between 6K - 8K to publish, print and ship. We have made a very conscious effort to keep the price of our books very affordable at $9.99 each. Over the next twelve months the remaining eight books in these series are scheduled to be published and will be made available for this same low price.
I truly believe this is a project that is extremely important to our collective future. Our young children need tools in the home and school that will prepare them to succeed in an increasingly competitive world. As a parent, grandparent and educator, I know that this view is shared by many. When we reach our fundraising goal and produce these books, I will not only be eternally grateful for your support, but also know that we will indeed be making a difference in the lives of our children.
