Crocheting for hospitals & homeless

Donation protected
Hello Friends,

A bit about Wooly Warmth:
------------------------------------

Wooly Warmth is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Since December 2014, our volunteers have knitted and crocheted caps, sweaters, blankets and booties for babies and orphans. We also create and donate caps for cancer patients.

Here are some examples of our handmade items:

The birth of a baby is a momentous occasion for the entire family. Personalized gifts from Wooly Warmth makes the event even more memorable, they also create a special bond between the family and the hospital staff and these gifts helps those families that are unable to afford warm clothes for their newborn.

The loss of hair is a painful part of chemotherapy. We make colorful caps for cancer patients of all ages. We hope to bring peace to those in pain.

Wooly Warmth donates to most of the local hospitals in the Bay Area. Lucile Packard Foundation For Children's Health and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital are a few such local hospitals. We support national level organizations such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer society. Recently, we have extended our support to the Worldwide Orphans Foundation, an organization that aids orphans all around the world.

Wooly Warmth's 2017 goals:
-------------------------------------
1. Continue donations to the network of our existing recipients.
2. Commit to the 2017 homeless drive and make it a success as we did in 2016.
3. Expand our reach to support additional hospitals/charitable organizations.

What is Wooly Warmth’s Homeless Drive:
------------------------------------------------------

Holidays, which are meant to be joyous occasions, are extra harsh on the homeless. The cold outdoor weather adds to the pain of being homeless. This year, Wooly Warmth has committed to donate 500 handmade crocheted caps to the homeless in San Jose, CA. We hope to bring comfort to the homeless during the Thanksgiving holiday.

We need your help in purchasing yarn and other knitting/crocheting supplies for our volunteers who make the caps. An ocean is made of tiny drops of water. Even a small contribution of $10 would contribute towards the creation of 5 caps. So, we hope that you can lend us support and help reach our goal.

Thank you and please spread the word.
