WoolseyFire Displaced Ranch Workers

$32,518 of $25,000 goal

Raised by 274 people in 3 months
Created November 10, 2018
The Woolsey fire completely destroyed the homes of at least 54 ranch workers and their family members living in the Malibu mountains. We want to raise enough funds to keep them fed and housed for the next couple of days. We would like to raise approximately $500 per person as soon as possible. Anything we raise above that goal will be distributed to the families to help re-establish themselves after the fire has been extinguished.

Hello friends and family. We hope that this message finds all of you happy and healthy this holiday season.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the strength and support that we have received since we started this campaign. The way that people from all parts of our lives have come together to give what they could for people they do not even know has been breathtaking. Thank you.

We want to honor the trust you have bestowed us by keeping you all informed as we transition into the next stage of this campaign.

We have currently identified 64 individuals from 31 ranch worker families severely affected by the Woolsey fire and its aftermath. This is a community that we have been lucky enough to connect and work with operating our business in the Malibu area over the last 3 years.

The funds from this campaign will be given directly to individuals to be spent as they see fit during this time of rebuilding. Eli Lichter-Marck will be acting as an intermediary, withdrawing funds and distributing checks personally to individuals and families over Christmas and New Years. For some, the funds will help replace essential household and personal items. For others, these funds will help buy materials and rebuild structures lost to the fire. Our hope is that a little bit of financial help will jumpstart the recovery process after this traumatic experience.

Again, thank you for being part of this amazingly loving community.
