Clean drinking water shouldn't be a privilege...

There is no safe amount of lead exposure, yet much of Pittsburgh's water piping contains lead levels that exceed federal limits. This lead is leeching into our drinking water and it's a big deal. It impacts the brain and nervous system, causing health and learning problems such as ADD and ADHD, hearing and speech damage, kidney failure, anemia, and more.  It also causes low birth weight and pre-term birth in newborns.

Water filters can remove lead, but many people simply can't afford them or don't know which filtration sytems to purchase. We will not be the next Flint, but we need your help.

Here's how it works: Women for a Healthy Environment (WHE), a non-profit organization based in western Pennsylvania, has received partial grant funding to provide underserved homes with young children and expectant mothers who are at risk and need lead removed from their water.

We have 30 days to bring clean water to 100 homes.
Your gift of $60 provides a water filtration system for one household for one year!

Please act now to help give those families most at risk access to lead-free drinking water.  Thank you!
