Update as of noon on 11/27: Wolfgang is now at the Blue Pearl Emergency Pet Hospital in San Antonio. Signs are pointing to a fungal infection in his lungs. Having a diagnosis bodes well for his recovery. The tests are being looked at by a specialist in California, and they're overnighting the results. We should hopefully know his diagnosis by tomorrow. We are cautiously optimistic. He still has difficulty breathing on his own outside the oxygen unit. He will have to remain in oxygen for a minimum of 3 days, up to as long as a week. Positive thoughts and prayers as well as continued sharing across social media is very much appreciated. We are desperate to help our baby get better. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, and offered their kind words to us. Wolfgang has been there for me through much over the past 7 years so thank you for helping me be there for him.

Original post: My rescue baby Wolfgang can't breathe on his own and is currently on oxygen in the Blue Pearl Emergency Vet center in New Braunfels. He needs your help to save him.

He has extremely abnormal x-rays, with an enlarged heart and either fluid or tissue in his lungs and will have to be transported to a specialist in San Antonio. The vet is doing all possible diagnostics on him to determine what is wrong with him, and so far nothing has been conclusive.

Because Wolfie is having trouble breathing on his own, he will need to be taken to the specialist in an oxygen filled unit. Once a best course of treatment is determined, he will likely have to stay on oxygen for at least several days.

Needless to say, this will be expensive. In a perfect world, money would be no object. Unfortunately that is simply not the case. We've already spent nearly $2,000 and all of our immediately available resources are close to tapped out.

My sweet Wolfie has been there for me since he was an 8 week old kitten and I want to be there for him even into what could be his final days. I can't bear to think that finances could prevent me from getting him the medical help he needs. If you can donate, every dollar means so much.
