WOD for a Wheelchair!

The reason we need to raise some money is because my husband, Terry Hunt, has been very poorly. It started on 31 July 2014 when he had two major bleeds on the brain  resulting in him having severe brain damage. After 14 months away from home and neurological rehabilitation he was able to return home.

Unfortunately in February this year he suffered a brain infection which caused him to have several severe seizures. He was in QA hospital, Portsmouth for 11 weeks and is now in a nursing home as he needs 24 hour nursing care.

To enable him to get out of bed he needs a wheelchair that is specially designed to support him and his needs. We will then be able to take him outside and hopefully for some small walks. The total cost of this wheelchair is £1,300.

For those of you that know my Dad "Tezza" he is a very strong working class man who has grafted his entire life and seeing him need so much help from others is still alien to us.  Whilst growing up I remember family members and friends would often show up unannounced for his council and help, he would always welcome them with open arms and do what ever he could to help.  

Now it is our turn to do something for this kind hearted man who has done so much for others over the years.  You know he has always put others before himself and if you ever asked if he was sure he would respond "Yeah, i'm fine love/darling/babes". What a legend! Darren Hunt

Dad had been through an awful lot especially these past few months, he's and incredibly strong man. As my brother has said he has always put others before himself and has always been supportive and to lend a hand when needed. Having this wheelchair would mean he could leave his bed and room and be able to go outside which will improve his quality of life and wellbeing. Anything you can spare really will make a difference to a man who truly deserves it! Lisa Bennett
