My name is Collin McKnight. I am NavyMac on the Zello radio through Houston Rescue Coordination, South Houston Rescue and Downtown Rescue to name just a few. From Friday, 08/25/2017 through Tuesday 08/29/2017 I performed high water, high risk flood rescues for victims of Hurricane Harvey. I am also a victim of Harvey's destruction but that is not what this is about.
On Tuesday afternoon, after leaving the Crosby Texas area following a chemical plant evacuation I sustained a blowout on my boat trailer. I lent my spare to another rescuer the day prior. This forced me to drop my boat on the shoulder of Hwy 146 in Baytown. The Cajun Navy had a member bring me a donated tire and rim from Louisiana over night. Upon returning to the place I left the boat I found it missing, I contacted law enforcement and they verified that it was stolen and not towed.
I have had a lot of support from 100.3 The Bull (a local radio station) and their listeners as well as the many dispatchers and rescuers that I worked hand in hand with through the devestation. As rescuers we provide our own supplies, fuel and rescue vehicles out of our own pockets and someone decided to steal my boat. No good deed goes unpunished. I am not rich and work for everything I have and it took me 4 years to save for the boat.
I am now asking for help from anyone willing to help me to replace this boat so that I can continue my rescue efforts along with the thousands of other rescuers. I encourage people to research my claim here. There are many frauds out there and I am not one. I was not going to do this but I have been encouraged to do so by the dispatch coordinators and fellow rescuers since I lost this boat while rescuing people from places that law enforcement could not get to in support of Hurricane Harvey victims. I am still volunteering in rescues as a dispatcher since I am off the water and will continue as long as people need help.
If you can help me it would be greatly appreciated, I purchased the boat just 2 months ago and due to theft that was not on my property my insurance will not cover the loss.
