Winter Care Packs for the Homeless

Imagine a typical Chicago evening in the middle of December. Your commute is frigid, sludgy, and dreadful, but luckily your time outside is limited. Soon you'll arrive at the bar for happy hour or greet your loved ones at home - all places where heat will envelop you once you step inside. Unfortunately not everyone will have the luxury of a roof this winter. They'll spend most of their time on city streets or shelter floors. Your swift commute is their daily life.

This winter my sisters and I want to spread some kindness to those who perhaps haven't felt it in quite some time. We would like to create 200-250 winter care packages for Chicago's homeless. These packages will include basic necessities to help them get through Chicago's harsh winters including blankets, socks, toothbrush/toothpaste, food, water, etc. They will also include a local resources guide to help create awareness among the community and, of course, words of encouragement.

I would love your help in turning these care packages into a reality. Any donation goes such a long way! Your help will give members of our community the resources and the hope to keep moving forward. Someone much smarter than me once said, "Service to others is the rent you pay for your time here on earth." Please take a couple minutes and a few dollars to pay it forward.
