Winter fund

Donation protected

On Monday, January 2nd, my 8-year-old niece Winter was spending the evening with her family. There was an accident with their four wheeler, and Winter sustained injuries far worse than ever imagined. Winter was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University of Vermont Medical Center with internal bleeding from a severe injury to her liver. She also suffered a serious injury to her pancreas, which is thought to be severed nearly in half. The pediatric physician estimates a minimum of a 3-4 week stay in the hospital. Depending on the severity of the pancreatic injury, it was estimated Winter could potentially need to be hospitalized for up to 6 months. Winter has been medically stable for several days now, and after 7 days in the Pediatric ICU she is now being transferred to the pediatric floor. She is only allowed sips of clear liquids, and requires her nutrition to be delivered to her through an IV. The duration of time Winter will need to remain in the hospital remains unclear. I wanted to start this fund for my brother and his family, in hopes to help alleviate a little bit of the financial worry associated with this difficult situation.
