Wind-Powered Car Prototype

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Mamoudou Bah and I am a sophomore at Cristo Rey Columbus High School in Columbus, OH. I'm involved in the science club at school and I work part-time at McDonald's. While I certainly keep myself busy with these things, there's something else that has been at the forefront of my mind.

Through my education at the school and my own research, I became alarmed by the impact of global climate change and the rising cost of gas prices. As a result, I set out to help create a solution. While I knew the task was a large one, I felt compelled to act, even if it meant sacrificing my own time and money. We are only on this earth for so long.

After a few weeks of chatting with teachers and brainstorming with friends and family, I began exploring the idea of creating a wind-powered car in May of 2017.
With numerous months of research, working with an engineering faculty member at Ohio State University, and staying up late hours, I was able to construct a 62-page report describing a prototype for a wind-powered car.

To help create an physical prototype, I set out to participate at a local science fair at Big Walnut High School on February 8, 2018. This would be the first step of many to get to qualify for the Intel Science Fair Competition where there are a number of scholarship and cash prizes. Fortunately, I placed first and was able to advance to the District Science Day at Columbus State Community College on March 17, 2018. It was awesome getting a chance to see the other incredible projects being created by students in my hometown. At the end of the day, I was 4 points shy of advancing to the State Science Fair. However, I did win various sponsored awards from the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers- Franklin Co. Chapter, Dr. Marlin Languis, and the Ohio Development Services Agency.

Despite not advancing, I am still determined to continue working hard to make my project a reality. With this vehicle, I believe I can help save people anywhere from $500-$4000 yearly, save 4 hours of time each year for each American,  prevent a depression in the car industry, reduce the increasing rate of global climate change, and make our world a better place. All donations are appreciated. Thank you!
