Our family has been so blessed to be able to welcome this precious gift into our family! When we became a foster family two years ago, it was our hope and dream that we could eventually add a little girl to our household. When we were approached last October about the possibilty of adopting, that dream started to become a reality.
We have aways said that our goal as a foster family is to help the parents get themselves back to a position of being able to care for their children again. We tried very hard to make our goal with this adoption no different. We encouraged them to learn more about both foster care and adoption to be sure they knew what they were agreeing. We would never want to be the reason a family does not stay together. After much talking with our adoption agency, it was decided that adoption really was what the bio parents wanted for their baby. At that point, we had no idea what the gender would be - but we were, of course, thrilled to find out that a baby girl had been born on Feb. 10!
Eric was privileged to be at the hospital at the time of her birth and held her just minutes later. The rest of our family joined him later that evening. It was love at first sight! As most of you know, it has been a bumpy road to get to where we are today, but God has been our strength and foundation. We put it all in His hands and he has blessed us immensely.
Adoption is a difficult journey, but so rewarding! We have successfully passed all the phases in our journey and finalized the adoption in July. We appreciate any and all help we can get with the legal costs involved.
