William’s Surgery
Donation protected
The results from William’s CT scan showed us that William’s tiny nostrils are the main cause of his discomfort when breathing. He also has bone loss, a devited septum, and very asymmetrical nasal cavities ... all likely a result of his congenital facial deformity. The good news is that the nostrils can be opened with a simple surgery and will help him breathe much better.
Because William has also been coughing, x-rays were taken of his chest to rule out potential causes of his cough.. Sadly, these x-rays showed that William has an enlarged heart, likely also a congenital abnormality. The wonderful doctors at the UF Small Animal Hospital want to make sure his heart will handle the anesthesia okay during the surgery, so William now also needs an echocardiogram to figure out what is making his heart extra big and what is causing his heart murmur.
The surgery, hospitalization, and cardiology appointment are estimated at $3000.
