William Foster's Medical Fund

Donation protected
In late 2017, William Foster, a father, son, husband, brother, nephew, uncle and friend to so many, was diagnosed with a brain tumour.  In true William style he initially kept this very quiet, tried to continue with his daily routine, including playing basketball for his beloved Nyewente (Trucking Yards) Basketball Team, as he didn’t want to draw attention or have people fussing over him.  Since the diagnosis however, the medical journey has been long and demanding and he and his family have since given permission for his story to be shared.

After confirmation of the tumour in early December, William was required to immediately attend Royal Adelaide Hospital for urgent surgery.  William, with the support of his wife Tina, his 5 children: Khadesha, Merrica, Jacob, Bella, William Jnr and family, travelled to Adelaide and the surgery was completed on 19th December 2017.

After the initial surgery however, serious medical complications followed and as a result, the Foster Family were forced to unexpectedly spend their Christmas and New Years in Adelaide.  Sadly, medical issues continued, and some 2 months after diagnosis, William and Tina remain in the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

William is on a postive road to recovery, however this lengthy hospital stay was not expected.  William and Tina had to make the hard decision to have their children return to Alice Springs to supporting family at home.  William and Tina have already missed out on so many things with their children, including their son’s first day at high school which carries a huge emotional burden.  There is also the significant financial burden that comes, with both Tina and William being unable to work for nearly 8 weeks to date.  Daily expenses continue for the Foster family, so this fund has been set up to ask family and friends for any offers of support that are available to them.

William and Tina have given so much time, dedication and commitment to others.  In times like these, selfless people like the Foster Family don’t like to ask for help, but this is the least we can do for a family that is so instrumental and so involved in so many aspects of the Alice Springs Community.

Any support that can be offered to help lighten the financial burden to this family would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, if online is not your thing, myself, Thea Dunkley and Greg Drew are happy to receive collections and then later pledge the fund manually to the page.

Again, thank you for your support to the Foster Family
