WILD - Endangered Species Through Dance Production!

WILD RETURNS!
If you don'tknow me, my name is Crystal Silmi, I am a belly dance fusion artist from San Francisco, California currently living in Madrid, Spain where I have for the past 6 years worked as a dance teacher, performer and choreographer.
In February this year I organized an event called WILD - it was a creative collaboration of many dance artists from around Spain that brought the animal kingdom into the theater through the medium of dance.
As a vegan, environmentalist and artist I was seeking a creative means to combine my deep concern for the planet with where my artistic passions lay in the performance arts.  I came up with the concept of an "endangered species through dance" show to bring to life on the stage the lives of those beings who are currently vulnerable, endangered and critically endangered.
Due to climate change, poaching, habitat loss and fragmentation, along with many other factors, this list of threatened species is ever growing. Sadly, human beings are the primary cause of this environmental degradation and destruction.
Most people aren't aware of how their lifestyle choices impact the environment be it through diet, fashion, the vehicles we use, etc.
I wanted to shed light on the lives of these treasures of the earth with the hope to bring awareness about the dire situation that is in our hands and inspire people take action. Minute alterations in our individual lifestyles can quickly spread to a global awakening.
I am grateful to share that our event was a huge success. Not only were we able to adopt a tiger as we had originally planned, but we also made contributions to the adoption of a wolf, an orangutan and a baby penguin.
Due to the success of our last event, we are plunging forward and producing the event yet again this fall.
We still need your help to ignite a spark that will light the path to awareness!
In order to repeat the show and bring the animals into life  on the stage, there are several expenses that need to be covered.  These include: Theater space, lighting and sound technician, rehearsal space rental, printed materials etc.
This project is the coming together of all that I love and have a passion for - people, animals, creativity, music and dance.  Each of the cast members selected for this show have been supportive to my creative works since I've moved abroad and I am honored to give them a platform where they can share and express the talents they have and be a part of my vision.
I will be grateful for contributions of any amount to help us reach our ultimate goal of 1000€.
Even the price of a cup of coffee donated will help us reach our goal!
Those who contribute 50€ or more will be sent a downloadable copy of the show once it is completed.
This time our goal is to adopt yet another endangered animal - the mighty Polar Bear via the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) adoption site for the amount of $250 (USD).

WILD - Una Producción sobre Especies Amenazadas vistas a través de la Danza

WILD REGRESA!
Para los que no me conocéis, mi nombre es Crystal Silmi. Soy una bailarina de danza oriental fusión de San Francisco (California), que en la actualidad reside en Madrid (España) donde he estado trabajando como profesora de danza, intérprete y coreógrafa desde hace 6 años.
En febrero de este año organicé un evento llamado WILD. Se trataba de una colaboración creativa de varias artistas de danza de toda España que llevaron el reino animal al escenario a través del baile.
Como vegana, ambientalista y artista estaba buscando medios creativos para combinar mi profunda preocupación por el planeta con la parte que ocupan mis pasiones artísticas en la artes interpretativas. Se me ocurrió el concepto de un espectáculo sobre "especies amenazadas vistas a través de la danza" para mostrar sobre el escenario las vidas de esos seres que actualmente se encuentran en estado de vulnerabilidad, en peligro de extinción o en situación crítica.
Debido al cambio climático, la caza furtiva, la pérdida y fragmentación del hábitat, junto a muchos otros factores, esta lista de especies amenazadas continúa creciendo. Lamentablemente, los seres humanos somos la causa principal de esta degradación y destrucción del medio ambiente.
La mayoría de la gente no es consciente de cómo sus elecciones en sus estilos de vida tienen un impacto sobre el medio ambiente, ya sea a través de la dieta, moda, los vehículos que usamos, etc.
Mi intención era arrojar luz sobre las vidas de estos tesoros del planeta con la esperanza de crear conciencia sobre la situación crítica que tenemos entre manos, e inspirar a la gente a pasar a la acción. Cambios mínimos en nuestros estilos de vida individuales pueden propagar rápidamente un despertar global.
Me siento agradecida por compartir el gran éxito de nuestro evento. No sólo pudimos apadrinar un tigre, como era nuestra idea original, si no que además contribuimos al apadrinamiento de un lobo, un orangután y una cría de pingüino.
Debido al éxito de este último evento, nos hemos animado a sumergirnos de nuevo en la producción de este espectáculo para este otoño.
Aún necesitamos vuestra ayuda para poder generar esa chispa que encenderá las conciencias.
Para repetir el espectáculo y dar vida a los animales sobre el escenario, hay varios gastos que son necesarios cubrir. Estos incluyen el teatro, los técnicos de luz y sonido, el alquiler de salas de ensayo, gastos de imprenta, etc.
Este proyecto aúna todo lo que amo y me apasiona: las personas, los animales, la creatividad, la música y la danza. Cada uno de los miembros del elenco seleccionados para este espectáculo me han apoyado en mis trabajos creativos desde que vine a vivir fuera de mi país natal, y me siento honrada de poder darles una plataforma desde la que compartir y expresar su propio talento y formar parte de mi visión.
Os agradezco cualquier contribución de cualquier cantidad de dinero que nos ayude a alcanzar nuestro objetivo final de 1000€.
