Wife/Mom of 3 FIGHTING RARE CANCER!

Donation protected
Kristina & Jonathan welcomed their beautiful full term little girl named Savanna, on October 17th. They also have Jonathan Jr. (8yrs) and Skysen (1 1/2yrs). When coming home, everything seemed normal. After 2 weeks, Kristina experienced symptoms and something wasn't right. She called the Dr. office where she was then advised it was normal. A following week she called again, and was advised it was normal and scheduled her postpartum check up the next week. The Dr scheduled an ultrasound to see if placental fragment was left.

Kristina did not make it to the ultrasound. She ended up hemorrhaging on Nov.22 and went to the ER and had an emergency surgery. The Dr. found something he didn't expect. Tissue was sent to pathology and that's when Kristina received a call from her Dr. regarding her results.

From her personal FB post:
"Sunday we received a phone call that smacked us right in the face.  My pathology results came back from my emergency surgery and going forward Ellis Fischel will be like a 2nd home. Yes, I have CANCER.

I have a rare form of Stage 3 gestational trophoblastic disease (AKA placental cancer) and Mayo Clinic confirmed it's the form Choriocarcinoma. The cancer is aggressive and spreads quickly but sensitive to chemo. It has spread to my uterus, lungs and possibly in my ovary blood vessels (liver & brain clean). There are very rare cases (30 total) that this cancer passes to infant in womb BUT blood work on Savanna came back normal and she's in the clear! That's the best news EVER!!!

I've been an emotional rollercoaster as well as family & friends but we are ready to kick this cancer's ass! I have so much to fight for! I start chemo next week and the following week I will get a partial (possibly full) hysterectomy. I have faith in my great team of doctors and nurses at Ellis Fischel, UOM and doctor at John I. Brewer Trophoblastic Disease Center in Chicago!

Most importantly, we trust in the Lord and he has given us the BEST support group to get through this! We are so appreciative of everyone that has helped us already through this trying time. We feel the love!

We have a lot to figure out before chemo! We need prayers and positive vibes and thoughts our way!

At this given time Kristina's chemo is expected to last a minimum of 3 months. Your contribution will help lighten the financial burden of travel, living, lost wages & treatment expenses.  Any donation of any size will be appreciated! If you are unable to donate, please at least share her story and keep this family in your thoughts and prayers!

Thanks,
