LOWER EAST SIDE UNITED FESTIVAL AUGUST 26, 2018.
During the event, youth are provided with:
FREE book bags and back-to-school haircuts, giveaways, along with fun activities such as face painting, balloon twisters, basketball skills and drills, live performances from community orgs and much more.
Free check-ups and information on health insurance will also be administered via medical trucks and practitioners that will be in attendance FOR ALL AGES.
Free information tables include, but are not limited to: After school programs, tenant educational information, immigration information, health and wellness, financial literacy, daycare sites, religious-based community programs, volunteer opportunities, senior centers, shelters, and much more.
LAST YEAR WE GAVE OUT OVER 1000 BOOK BAGS WITH SUPPLIES IN JUST OVER 3 HOURS AND GAVE ANOTHER 500 OUT THE FOLLOWING WEEKS AFTER THE EVENT TO FAMILIES AND ORGANIZATIONS IN NEED. WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN DO EVEN MORE...
Our goal is to educate, unite, and empower people of the community while helping local organizations network and share resources with others to promote the growth of each program and their function.

We would like to thank everyone for simply taking the time to read this. The fact that you are here is the whole point of "WHY NOT CARE just a little more."
Why Not Care is currently raising money to provide more care packages and resource flyers for the homeless, the unfortunate, people of low socio-economic status, or anyone who can use a little love and positivity. Your contribution will also help to establish a storage unit and other promotional materials (i.e. tee shirts, pins/buttons, inspirational quote cards, stickers for bags, caps, table and hanging banners, and other paraphernalia) to promote and recruit more volunteers and donations/contributions to the cause.
Why Not Care started unintentionally, when a handful of care packs were distributed in the streets and to select local businesses in NYC. The movement is developing faster than anticipated, and we want to keep up with the demand of caring. With all of your generous donations, we can make more care packs to distribute in the streets, and donate to community organizations. Eventually, we would like to assemble starter kits to send across the country and around the world to help this movement flourish on a grander scale.
We are fortunate to have a handful of friends and family volunteering for the initiative. They have assisted us with donations and acquiring the products and resources necessary for our WHY NOT CARE PACKS. With their assistance, we are looking to launch our initiative in Florida, Texas, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Virginia, North Carolina and Puerto Rico by the end of June 2017.
Our goal is to be a beneficial resource for disenfranchised and everyday people, businesses and community orgs, who may need supplemental resources or just a network of amazing people who care. Essentially that's what Why Not Care is, a huge network of people who care and are able and willing to offer their resources and services to help others in need.
CARE PACKS include (but are not limited to):
Personal hygienic products; deodorant, hand wipes/sanitizer, hand lotion, mini first aid kits, tooth brush, tooth paste, bottle of water, granola bars, plastic zip lock bag and an inspirational note. With your donations, we can begin adding more products like socks, metro cards and other necessities.
-The flyers included in these packs offer contact information to free resources around at specific convenient sites and cities.
FLYERS INCLUDE free resources to shelters/housing, food banks, SAT/GED prep, child care services, after-school programs, adolescent outreach, legal representation, tutoring, creative classes for youth, family activities and much more.
We humbly appreciate any donation, positive reinforcement and prayers you can provide us to help those who need it the most. This movement means the world to all of us who are involved. As long as we are breathing we will never stop giving back to our neighbors and community. On behalf of everyone involved in this, we want to say THANK YOU for caring just a little more!
