WHS Braves Messenger Broadcast Room
We began this broadcasting feature three years ago, and we have functioned with minimal equipment and used a shared conference room as our broadcast location. Sometimes the broadcast room is needed for meetings, so we have had to film outside (see the broadcast on 10/9), or in other locations in the building such as the art room (10/15). While our students are creative and make the most of every situation, we would really like a room of our own that allows us to improve our production quality.
We have a team of motivated students, teachers, and parents who are excited to begin this process of renovating an old sound room in the music department. We are in need of drywall, lighting, a teleprompter and ipad, a news desk, and a high top sports news table to be placed in this corner :
Funding in public schools traditionally goes to schools that are in more economically disadvantaged areas, and we therefore rely on the generosity of community members who see the value in the programs we are developing to be able to see our vision materialized. We know that students who participate in this program are recieving valuable experience in communication and community development. They love this program, and will be very grateful for the improvements we make.
