Emergency Going Home Fund

Hello everyone,

I suppose the only way to start is to describe the situation I am currently in. I started going to school in August of 2016 in Florida, 1243 miles from home, and started a new life as an adult and college student. My first two semesters were rocky socially, but as a student I maintained a place on the Dean's list and worked hard to stay on top of my grades.

Coming up on my third semester of college I made the personal decision to see if I could find another, better, school to go to. I was accepted to New England College in New Hampshire with tuition fully paid through scholarships due to my hard work. The plan was to move back to my home town in New Hampshire in August of 2018 to finish my psychology degree and set myself up to get my masters. This road is still open to me, if I can get home.

In March of 2018 I ended up in the hospital. I spent a week as an inpatient and then returned to my dorm and my everyday life. Adjusting back to regular everyday activity has been very hard, so difficult that I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my education on hold until August 2018. The good news is that my full ride to New England College still stands for August, and that I still plan on going to finish my degree and get my masters. The bad news is that in order to do so I need to be able to move back home to New Hampshire and I have none of the resources to do so. Around this time was when I started to make a plan;

1. Find somewhere to stay in Saint Augustine until I have enough money to move home (CHECK)
2. Get a FULL TIME job to start making money towards moving home (CHECK, new job secured and enjoyable...
...but the pay just isnt enough)
3. Buy a second hand car around $2000-$3000 (--------)*
4. Save $1200 for gas, hotels, and food on the move home (-------)
-$90 a night for a hotel, 3 nights needed, so $270
-$15 a day for food, 4 days in all, $60
-Gas is currently incalculable until I can get a vehicle
5. Move home (------)

*I chose to get a car instead of fly because if I fly I will not be able to move my belongings with me, unless I paid to havean apartments worth of belongings shipped home.

With the plan in place and the calculations all in it looks like I will have everything ready to go by September 2018, New England College's Fall Semester starts in August, I need to be home sooner. If I stay in Saint Augustine I can't start my true recovery from my hospital visit. Returning to New Hampshire I can get the treatment I need and the support of my family, though monitarily they really would not be able to support or help me move home.

Along for this ride with me is my best friend, and 100% my emotional support in everything but title, Calypso. She was a stray that I found and brought home with me, little did I know I was bringing home the greatest love of my life. She's beautiful, silly, and always want's to play. She's so well behaved she even walks on her leash, even though she prefers to be held. Together the two of us are excited to start the next part of our lives!

This situation is an emergency, my family wants me home ASAP and I need to start getting help ASAP. I have set my goal at $1200 to cover my travelling fees because with my job I will hopefully be able to get a vehicle. All I need is a little support and a little boost to finally get home, get the help I need, and reach my goals educationally.

Every little bit counts.
