Whitney Whit for Ms. Wheelchair

Donation protected
Hello I am Whitney Ford. I am 22 years of age. I was born with Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele. I have desired to become Ms. Wheelchair for many years. I once inquired of it when I was nineteen years of age but I learned that I had to be 21 years of age or older. So I waited and I am now eligible to do so. However, I need sponsors.  Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated. I have so much that I would love to bring to the table for the disabled community.
It is important to me that women who happen to be wheelchair users or have any disability for that matter knows that she is enough. enough for what God has for her and who God has for her. She perfectly capable of doing all that He has given her the desire to do and that her pace is just fine as to how when and where she does it. I have had to learn this lesson for  myself and I want to pass it on to others. Ms. Wheelchair America is not a beauty pageant. It is a movement and it is a sisterhood and I want nothing more than to be able to make a difference in the sisterhood of disabled women.

The Ms. Wheelchair Alabama pageant is  Saturday, April 1st in Oxford Alabama  at The Hilton garden Inn, crowwning is from 2-5 pm however , this will be an all day event for me and the other women (10am - 5pm). We will be giving our speeches to judges and getting to work, and If I am crowned as Ms. Wheelchair Alabama I plan to go on for the title of Ms. Wheelchair America in August which will take place in Pennsylvania( I plan to travel buy plane) . The donations will go towards nationals . However, because I have to travel from Huntsville to Oxford I do need help with funding towards State. I do not yet have my dress,  a dress can be donated and would also be tax deductible. as well as shoes or anything of that nature please email [email redacted] if you can help with that. Tickets to attend this event are $5 for adults and free for children ages 12 and under only.

Ms. Utah, like myself never entered into a pageant in her life won Ms. Wheelchair America last year.

If you would like to get to know me and the things I am passionate about plase visit my website heismycrutch.org this is something I believe becoming Ms. Wheelchair Alabama and furthermore Ms. Wheelchair America could help me to bring out further into the open. I am a student at calhoun Community College in Huntsville pursuing my General Studies Associates Degree. However I do plan to go on to pursue my bachelors degree from A&M University in Huntsville in Social Work as well as my Masters and continue on to become a Licensed Cinical Social Worker.

Some of my hobbies are writing , I have been writing poetry since I was 9 years old.  I also love to sing and just to encourage others in the Lord.  No donation is to small and all are greatly appreciated.

Business Sponsorship

The Ms. Wheelchair Alabama Program will be hosting the Ms. Wheelchair America-Alabama State Pageant on April 1, 2017. This event will consist of a pageant competition with interviews and platform speeches; lunch, vendor area, and light entertainment.
The mission of the Ms. Wheelchair Alabama Pageant Program is to provide an opportunity of achievement for women who happen to be wheelchair users, and open an avenue to successfully educate and advocate for the more than 54 million Americans living with disabilities. Unlike traditional beauty pageants, Ms. Wheelchair Alabama is not a contest to select the most attractive individual. It is, instead, a competition based on advocacy, achievement, communication and presentation to select the most accomplished and articulate spokeswoman for persons with disabilities. The selected representative must be able to communicate both the needs and the accomplishments of her constituency to the general public, the business community and the legislature.

With the generous support of businesses and individuals like you we can put on this pageant and raise the necessary funds to cover the fees to send our state delegate to represent people with disabilities at the National Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant held each summer. To make this event a success we are soliciting support from the community. We have three sponsorship levels ($125.00, $250.00, and $500.00). Any donation amount will be appreciated. A tax-deductible letter will be sent, for your records, approximately 2-3 weeks after the event. For more information on how your donation can help to make a difference in the lives of so many in our community, we invite you to visit the national website at www.mswheelchairamerica.org.
