Whitney's Treatment Fund (WTF)

$15,878 of $30,000 goal

Raised by 221 people in 11 months
Created July 19, 2018
On July 12th, our sister Whitney was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and she began her journey to recovery at Hackensack Medical Center a week later.  Whitney will be undergoing treatment for the next 6 – 12 months, and she will be unable to work.  When Whitney received her diagnosis, one of her first concerns was money – how would she pay her bills and cover any insurance shortfalls if she is unable to work?  This is obviously something we want to be furthest from her mind.  So, we’re asking for your support for our sister to ease her financial concerns so that she can focus solely on her return to health.

**A positive attitude and an uplifted spirit are important to this process.  Cards and letters can be sent to: 77 Carriage Ln., Newton, NJ 07860.**

(Any funds raised in excess of Whitney’s financial and medical needs will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)).

Hi Everyone,

Here’s an update from Whit. She’s one month out from her bone marrow transplant. Thank you again for all the prayers, love, and support that you’ve all given.

“Can’t believe it’s been a month since a selfless 19 year old donated her bone marrow to me, affording me the opportunity to continue my wonderful life. I’m definitely not as strong as I’d like to be and there’s still a ways to go in my recovery but everyday I am one step closer.”

Just wanted to share an update from Whit:

Day 106: Hopefully this is my last time checking into the hospital. Tomorrow, I’ll start my last chemo treatment, followed by some days of full body radiation. All that prep is for the final piece of this curative puzzle - a bone marrow transplant! I couldn’t have made it to this step without the support and unconditional love of my family, friends, and community. I’m anxious to start the last part of this journey but looking oh so forward to the future!

Hello everyone! Below is an update from Whit. We received some awesome news today!

Today, I wasn’t necessarily looking forward to checking into the hospital for another round of chemo but I found out, I’m in REMISSION so today was a good day! Besides my fabulous doctors, I believe a positive attitude and unwavering support from the people in these pictures and beyond have helped facilitate this wonderful outcome. Still rounds of chemo to go and the search for a bone marrow match but we’re certainly on the right track.

Here’s another update from Whit. Thank you everyone for all your support!

Day 19: Home sweet home is right! Out of the hospital ahead of schedule. Happy to finish the first leg of this journey - but eager to continue the next phase and have this all, eventually, be an interesting story to tell. The messages, calls, gifts, visits, donations, and overall support from everyone continues to be overwhelmingly heartwarming and encouraging. Immense gratitude is an understatement
