Whitney Stuberg's Medical Bills

Hello friends,
For those of you who know Whitney, you know she is tough as nails and always has a positive outlook with a solutions approach to any problem. She is always there for her friends and family offering a listening ear, a helpful hand and thoughtful things to consider. Now it's our turn to support her in her time of need.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, Whitney had a medical emergency. She went to work that morning feeling fine. Around 9 am it became nearly impossible for her to comprehend the words on her computer screen. She stood up to tell her coworkers that things didn't feel right. By 9:15 she was in an ambulance and getting a dose of tPA, a stroke symptom and life-saving drug. Once at the hospital she couldn't find the words to answer simple questions about where she was, her name, the month or what had happened. The doctors began showing her flashcards of everyday items and at that point, she knew what the pictures were but couldn't form the words. The medical team set her up in the neuro ICU. She was terrified. Family from all over dropped everything to be by her side.
At 31 years old Whitney learned she had experienced a small stroke. With no prior medical history, living an active and healthy lifestyle, the doctors are still trying to figure out the cause for this bizarre incident.
The next 72 hours were filled with multiple MRIs, CT Scans, chest x-rays, ultrasounds, and bloodwork. Every hour nurses were checking her vision, consciousness, mobility and anything else that could indicate further damage. She's met with the neurologists, an occupational therapist, speech therapist, and a cognitive therapist. Looking at a computer screen doesn't last more than 5 minutes before her head and eyes start to hurt. She is having trouble organizing numbers and writing pen to paper feels foreign even though that skill is not lost.
The medical team decided to order another type of echo scan to determine if she has a hole in her heart. While Whitney is trying to find peace and remain calm while trusting this process, she is ready to go home from the hospital and move on from this life event.

This GoFundMe is to supplement whatever her nonprofit insurance doesn't cover. Here are a few examples of what things cost that she experienced:
-Echocardiogram $2,000 without insurance
-MRI brain $4510 without insurance
-An ambulance ride $1,200 without insurance
-Hospital stay at Swedish Medical Center $75,000 for the 3 days without insurance
