Fund Whisper (the movie)!

Please help me fund this passion project - a film about a singer whose voice is tragically taken from her in a mugging gone wrong. Though we aren't all successful singers, all of us have experienced loss in one form or another and can identify with the helplessness of Claire (lead).   In Whisper , we take that journey with her and her new husband as she struggles to define who she is without her defining characteristic, and how she can relate to her relationships, surroundings and positions in her new life.  Whisper is told through music and silence, heartbreak and laughter, and leaves us wondering what we can make of our own lives and opportunities.

Who am I?
My name is Julie Hinton and I have experience in many aspects of the entertainment business. I hold a degree in acting and have earned rave reviews throughout my professional career as the lead actress in stage roles, short films and music videos. In addition to acting and singing, I am also a writer and producer with roughly a dozen short films and music videos which can be seen on YouTube and at short film festivals to my name. As a singer, I have performed on stages large and small, soundtracks, trailer music libraries and my own compositions. I am excited about taking on Whisper as it allows me to share my talents with a wider audience.
I created the production company, Red Tape Productions LLC , to develop this project and hopefully many more to come!



What does this project entail? 
Whisper is slated for theatrical release as a feature film. Should things go according to plan, shooting will be 28 days and take place sometime next year. Depending on the parameters of distribution, the film and its accompanying soundtrack should be released in late 2017 or early 2018.

Why do you need this much money? 
A million dollars is technically a "modified low budget" in the film world.  I've put together an extensive budget including details such as exactly how many people to hire, necessary purchases/rentals, contingency funds, etc.  With this funding, I can use union actors and cast someone "recognizable" to play the role of Jack (Claire's husband), if not other characters as well.  It will be a professional shoot with industry-competitive wages for over a hundred cinematic artists in Utah and Los Angeles to ensure a quality, contemporary project suitable for distribution in theaters around the world.

Should I be unable to raise these funds, there are alternate plans to slash the budget to make the most of what we get.  We will still be able to take the film festival route or market directly to Amazon, Netflix or other streaming video services.

*One million dollars is the budget for the film.  The other $80K is for the 8% GoFundMe charges.  If I get significant off-line contributions, this amount may be reduced.

Do you really expect to raise this much money?? 
I do!  GoFundMe is just the first step in finding investors. Larger, more substantial investors are naturally wary of investing in untested, new projects or individuals. 
That said, if we can show them that Whisper is indeed profitable, popular and feasible (through song downloads, trailer views , Facebook likes / fans, word-of-mouth, and independent donations such as GoFundMe) - investors will be more willing to assist us in getting to our goal.
