We set out on an adventure over two years ago to create a 23 acre organic vegetable, meat, milk, and fiber farm. We've invested heavily in both relational and financial means in order to get to a place where we could call our land home.
In 2015 we built a 20x20 barn that will be used to house and lamb our future flock of sheep and began the process of building a home. We've cleaned up acres and acres of land to use as for both pasture and food crops.
Beyond the farming aspect of our endeavors, we want to create a quiet, safe and educational place for our children and perhaps one day even build a cabin or two in the woods for people to find a peaceful refuge should the need arise.
Our first goal is to develop the farm to a point where it can be mostly self-sustaining. Once we acheive that goal we will begin to support our community through farmer's markets, fairs and charitable donations of food and fiber.
We have come a long way since first purchasing the land and have experienced excitement at the accomplishment of each individual goal. Money donated to this campaign will help us purchase our first batch of chickens, sheep and goats as well as to finish off the remaining fencing needed to keep our animals safe.
