When family puts out the fire

Donation protected
Who'd have thought that the holidays can be a scary and unsettling time? Most of us get to listen to holiday music, cuddle up with hot chocolate and watch Home Alone fifteen times. Unfortunately, this isn't the reality for everyone.

My coworker Cherlynn and her partner woke up Tuesday morning at 3am to a smoke-filled home. By good chance they were able to escape with their fur babies. While the fire department made it in time to put out the fire, they were not able to save the whole house.

Cherlynn is one of the most selfless and kind-hearted people I have ever met.

Cherlynn is incredibly dedicated to the homeless youth she works with, as a housing navigator she makes sure she does whatever she needs to, to get our youth into stable homes. Her determination and persistence is so incredibly admirable that even after such a tragic and traumatic experience she is still here at her desk helping our youth find homes while hers just caught fire.

Asking for help is an incredibly difficult and vulnerable time, but this is what family is for. As humble as she is Cherlynn will never be the one to ask for help, so we are creating this space for her to show her that we are here and we will be her light at the end of the tunnel.
