Wheelchair Van for Haris

My son Haris was born with a condition called Nemaline Myopathy. This condition causes all of his skeletal muscles to be weaker than normal and means that he requires a power wheelchair to obtain his much loved independence. 

Having a power wheelchair, naturally you then need a way to transport it which is what we need help with. Currently we don't have a wheelchair modified vehicle which leaves us feeling quite isolated and fairly housebound. We do use wheelchair taxis to get to and from school everyday and to appointments and some social outings but as you can imagine it isn't the same as being able to freely drive around where ever and whenever we like, and we are often waiting for taxis when all Haris wants to do is desperately get home because he is exhausted and needs to lie down and use his bi-pap breathing machine.

If we could raise money to enable us to buy a modified vehicle, Haris' quality of life would improve beyond your thoughts. It would give us so much freedom to do the things most take for granted such as getting to and from school on time, getting our grocery shopping done together, visiting family and friends easily, going for a spontaneous drive, taking day trips, stopping at the shops on the way home from where ever we might have been, and not having to wait in all types of weather for our taxi to take us home.

Haris loves life and making plans to do things and I want to help him have the fullest and most enjoyable life possible. As Haris' full time carer and mum I don't have any time to work so even your smallest contributions would be greatly appreciated to help us achieve our goal of getting him a wheelchair modified vehicle.
