Wheelchair ramp for Jenell Carmona

Jenell Carmona, 38 years old, was diagnosed with MS at the age of 17. She currently lives in the small in law suite behind her mother’s house in Croydon, PA. The only other person residing at the main house is Jenell’s mother, Miriam Carmona. She is 63 years old and it is getting harder for her to care for her daughter who is in a wheel chair. Miriam’s childhood sweetheart and husband passed away shortly after they bought the home in 2008. Miriam has been taking care of Jenell with the help of her son, Diego Carmona. He is a teacher with three children of his own and lives a few blocks away from his mother and sister. Jenell’s MS tends to send her into seizures and she sometimes falls out of her wheelchair. 

The NARI Community Service Committee would like to build an access ramp from the in law suite to the main house. This way Jenell can have access to the main house and Miriam would not have to essentially live in the small in law suite behind the house with Jenell. This would greatly improve their daily lives and would make it easier for Miriam to have immediate access to Jenell without constantly staying in the in law suite with her.

The NARI Community Service Committee is looking for donations from friends and family members in order to expedite the project and help pay for materials.
