Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department
Donation protected
On Friday August 24, 2018 at approximately 6:21 am the Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department's Station 1 was struck by lighting. Our Firefighters and surrounding departments responded within minutes, but unfortunately our building along with all reserve gear, helmets, boots, wildland gear, blowers, office equipment, hoses, hard suction, hose appliances, training materials, fire prevention materials and much more were lost.
As a donation based volunteer fire department we are always accepting donations. The safety of our firefighters and community come first.
Donations during this rebuild will allow us to purchase items such the appropriate commercial washer and dryer which is critical to the health of our firefighters. Fire contaminants can expose firefighters to cancer-causing carcinogens and eventually weaken the gear meant to protect them.
Extrication equipment necessary for getting our community out of a car if they are involved in a car accident.
There are many more items needed for the protection of our firefighters and community. Any donations are always appreciated.
