WHAT HAPPENED TO HENRY?
A documentary short film (15 minutes)

Producer/Director: Andrew Acciaioli

Project Description

Premise

Henry Louis Baltimore, Jr. was a drum major of the 1972 Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band.  He was one of the first African American drum majors in the band’s history. In the spring of 1973, Henry was robbed at gunpoint in his apartment.  The two African American men who robbed him stole $110 in cash, some personal belongings, tied him to his bed, and pistol-whipped him. Only one of the men was identified, known as Roy L. Davis from Flint.  After 10 days, Henry reported the crime to the city of East Lansing. When the arraignment hearing came around, Henry did not show up. His car was found at his apartment, but Henry himself was nowhere to be found.  Roy L. Davis was eventually sentenced to six months in prison on a lesser charge since Henry was not able to testify against him. It has been 45 years since Henry’s disappearance and there has been no new information on his whereabouts. Many people say he fled to western Canada. Others say he was kidnapped and murdered.  Nonetheless, everyone is asking the same question: what happened to Henry?
