Hey friends,
It’s been 4 whole years since my dad spontaneously came home with the most incredible puppy which we ended up naming Duke. My dog Duke has been the most well behaved, best furry friend, adventure buddy and confidant that I could have EVER asked for. I have been the lucky one to call this guy mine but unfortunately today I was hit with some very terrible news. After being quite ill for the past 11 days, our first vet diagnosis was valley fever. A couple days had passed and even on medication he hasn’t been feeling any better so I took him to get assessed once again. That was today. And today I have received the worst news any dog parent can receive. Duke has a ruptured spleen and needs emergency surgery. The Veterinarian (Dr. Flores) believes that time is critical in the condition that he is in and that we need to get the ball rolling for an exploratory surgery to help further assess the problem and hopefully fix it. If I cannot afford this treatment then I must consider the possibility of euthanasia. We have very little time so within the next 48 hours we need to make a decision on which route we must take.
This is not something I’d normally do but I’m at a crossroads here. Please help me get duke the treatment he needs to save his life. Whether it be by donating or by sharing his story any little thing counts. Thank you!
