West Monmouth School WW1 orchard
Donation protected
West Monmouth School has a long tradition of remembrance, having old boys who fell during both World Wars. Last year pupils made 113 ceramic poppies that represents the roll of honour of the school. These were displayed within the school grounds.
This year, on the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War, the school community would like to plant a remembrance orchard consisting of one tree for the roll of honour for this war.
The money raised will allow the trees to be purchased and the supplementary materials needed. Any surplus funds will be shared between the school and the local British Legion.
The project will link to many areas of the curriculum and will also bring together the community. The school hopes to involve the alumni and the local British Legion also.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope you can support this project.
