Help send Steve Masters to Westminster.

Let's send Steve Masters to Westminster.

It is now 5 months since Carolyne Culver, David Marsh  and Steve Masters made history here in West Berkshire by getting elected to the District council.

They are already making a huge difference. A climate emergency has been declared across West Berkshire and also by the town council here in Newbury. This is down to the work of these three councillors. Work that has been possible because of the continued support of others, party members, supporters across the district and of course voters.

You will have seen that we remain in the midst of a huge crisis of confidence in the country with a new, dangerously unreliable Prime Minister who seems to be set on pandering to the right wing media and the anti EU right in the Conservative party.

The General Election has just been announced Steve Masters and the local Green Party are preparing to fight for the Newbury constituency in such an election.

To facilitate this and ensure that everyone in the Newbury constituency hears the message the Green Party and Steve we need to raise £10000. This will allow the campaign team to design, print and distribute leaflets along with ad campaigns on social media.

It is time to finally kick the old divisive politics in to touch.

With the environment and the effects of austerity impacting the lives of more and more people Steve is the only real choice.

Please donate as much as you can and help us send Steve Masters to Westminster where he will be a representative fit to speak for everyone in our community.

As a local party we founded the cross-party Save Our Services campaign, fighting the gruelling Tory cuts that threatened vital services across West Berkshire. During the blizzards in 2018, and since, we protested the Conservative’s recycling tax, the £50 green bin charge which has been hugely unpopular. A petition by our prospective parliamentary candidate, Steve Masters, to end the badger cull in West Berkshire, has attracted nearly 15,000 signatures.

Another of Steve’s petitions, calling on the council to declare a climate emergency, received over 2,000 signatures becoming the first ever petition in West Berkshire to trigger a council debate.

In the past two years we have hosted deputy party leader Amelia Womack, and both co-leaders, Jonathan Bartley and Sian Berry. They added their voices to our campaigns for better transport, saving vital services, and backing a zero carbon future.

We’re excited for the future and we want you to be too. But all of this hard work comes with costs. We’ve stretched our funds as far as they will possibly go, and now we must ask for your help once again. To keep sending our positive message we need to raise funds. We are a small party with no rich backers, and we rely on the support of normal people like you! Please donate as much as you can and help us to keep fighting for what is right.

Thank you.
