Connor Hill's Battle with Type1SMA
Donation protected
Connor Bryan Hill entered this world on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Melissa, Dez (Dee) and Elise were eager to meet him and smother him with a lifetime of love. Sadly, that lifetime will be cut short. Connor was not breathing or moving when he was born. He was quickly transfered to Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and diagnosed with a devastating disease - Type 1 Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
SMA is the number one genetic killer of infants and young children. There is no cure. SMA is degenerative and hinders the ability to walk, stand, eat, speak, swallow and breathe. But the mind is never impacted. Generally, the younger a child is when diagnosed, the more severe and aggressive the disease is. Connor's SMA has controlled his body function since his first moment in this world. He has never breathed on his own. His legs and arms have no movement.
Please help Connor's family through this difficult, heartbreaking time. The only things keeping this sweet, innocent baby alive are the machines that breathe for him. Whenever those machines are turned off, this family will have to bury the baby boy they expected to raise alongside their daughter. Anything you can donate to help with the medical and funeral expenses will be so gratefully appreciated. Let's help Melissa, Dez and Elise Hill get back on their feet and raise awareness for SMA.
