We Love Lali

Lalibela Lawrence is a 16 year old High School student enrolled in the IB Program, 1st Vice President of Student Government, an active member of National Art Honors Society, and maintains working part-time. Although she leaves school with a smile on her face, she has to go home to stress wrenching her body.
Her mother was left unemployed from May 19th and has been struggling to pay the bills for her family ever since. However, even though she recently became employed on Oct 6th and will be capable of paying the rent forthcoming, the landlord is still threatening to deforce them from their home in 48 hours if they do not come up with $3,000 for October and Septembers rent. Without any help from her Father, who left the family in April and put a restraining order on her mother after he abused them for 16 years, took his name off of all the bills, and left without mentioning his departure to anyone- 16 year old Lalibela and her 7 year old baby brother are left to help their mother as much as they can. Lalibela is one of the most altruistic, devoted, and compassionate young women I have ever met. No amount of synonyms or big, fancy words can describe how immense her heart is. We love her dearly, and we do not want to see her struggle or leave.
