In the darkest of night, Hurricane Maria made landfall on the beautiful island of Dominica. She was one of the most rapidly formed and acceleratd storms in Atlantic's history. In less than 24 hours the people of Dominca were shell-shocked and ill prepared for what was to come upon them. Seeing the aftermath, not so sure anyone could ever really have been prepared. Unfortunately, our family and friends experienced her wrath.
Our hearts are heavy with the destruction that Hurricane Maria caused our beloved island of Dominica and to our families. Since her passing our lives have been transformed in ways we could not imagine. Our dear families in Paix Bouche and Dos Dane have lost nearly everything. We just learned that Whealan's dear father Ralph passed away last night. His house was lost and it was just too must to carry. We have 2 villages that are second homes for us that we are committed to help. It is a desperate situation for many and we will be there for them. Maria stripped trees, destroyed crops, carried roofs away, carried lives away down the river, and terrorized Dominica for 12+ hours. Maria ravaged her landscape, tore homes from her people, and left her in desperate need of assistance. They estimate 90% of the homes have been destroyed or compromised. We are dedicated to delivering relief via basic essentials to building supplies.
If you know Whealan, myself, and the ib family, it might surprise you that we started this fund. In this big open world we live in, we find this will be the most powerful tool to make an incredible impact on the ability to aid and assist Paix Bouch and Dos Dane. I believe in the POWER OF GIVING!
Whealan and myself ask you to join us and give ANYTHING. We will coordinate delivery of aid from the US or from St. Croix. We personally will see that all items get to where they will have the greatest impact to improve the lives of the people in Paix Bouche and Dos Dane.
