Chris's Charity Europe Bike Ride

Let's go on a journey together and make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged.

My name is Chris Sakowski and I've been traveling around the world teaching yoga for the past few years.  This summer I plan to bicycle around Europe and raise awareness about the homeless and less fortunate, taking the spirit of yoga to the streets.  

While living in India, I witness the issues of hunger and poverty on a daily basis.  I would like to do my small part to raise awareness and help out those less fortunate that I meet on my journey.  I plan to create a program called Well Worn Souls in which I will share a meal with the homeless or impoverished people I encounter and then share their story on my website.

My plan is to use the funds generated to make this a reality, providing food, shelter, clothes, or whatever is necessary to provide some relief for those who are down on their luck, especially children.  

I would also like to make a donation to the Ramana's Garden Children Home  in Rishikesh, India (where I spent some time volunteering).  Ramana's is a school for at risk  children (many have lost one or both of their parents) that provides kids with education all the way through college, healthy organic meals, shelter, and lots of genuine love and support.

As Mother Theresa said: "We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.  But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."  I believe wholeheartedly in this statement and thank you in advance for helping to make our drop that much bigger as it ripples through the ocean.
