Wellness Campaign for Stephen Peat

Stephen Peat is a former player for the Washington Capitals.  He played in 130 games for the organization from 2001-2005-6 seasons.  Known for his physicality and fights on the ice, he was (from afar) a great teammate and presence on the ice.  He was an old school “pugilist” the likes that are now out of the league for the most part.  However, if you’re a Caps fan, he brought you out of your seats on many occasions with his ability to go toe-to-toe with anyone in the league.  I met Stephen on a few different occasions and he came across to me as quiet and reserved. (I did not know him well but was always a great kid to me). Right now, Stephen and his father need help. I’m not sure what we fans or former colleagues can do to help in getting Stephen what he truly needs but I think we can start somewhere.  Let’s show him and his family our concern and generosity in getting something to assist in care etc and to do OUR best to avoid a mental health disaster that has taken several NHL’ers away far too young. I put this together on a whim and have not contacted the family yet but hope to do so in the next few hours.  Thanks to all NHL and Washington Capitals fans.   Please click on the link to read about Stephen.
