On June 6, 2019 Tori was diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The next day she had a port surgically put in. June 18, 2019 she started chemo. While we are all thankful that her oncologist hit the ground running this has left her family with next to no time to save or prepare for this diagnosis.
I am reaching out to each and every one of Tori and Kurt's friends. Being this far away can feel pretty useless when people need you. Now is the time this amazing family needs us to come together and support them. They need us to show them that we are here for them. The goal for this GoFundMe is to help cover co-pays, babysitters, meals, and lost wages.
No matter where we are or how much we can give, we can all come together for Tori and Kurt.
Victoria and I met a few years ago when I saw her facebook post about a free filing cabinet. Still to this day we talk about that stupid filing cabinet and how much it changed our lives. Tori helped plan my wedding, I was honored to throw her a small Bachelorette Party. We were excited to both welcome little girls into our families in 2017 after both having older boys. Last year, I moved to Japan and thanks to Apple and Facebook, we are able to keep in touch almost daily.
One particular day I asked Tori how she was doing. I had just been venting for a few days straight and was finally having a lazy day. She texted, "I dont wanna to be a Debby Downer." It was just after this text that she told me she had been diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin's Lymphoma. My whole world stopped for a moment. I wanted to reach through the phone and be with Tori at that moment. But that just wasn't possible. I listened; well, read texts the rest of the morning as we talked about our days and work and the kids.
