Ex-Catholic Nun Joins Weed-nuns

Donation protected
There is, in North Carolina, a very young, middle-aged woman who was once a pope-affiliated church nun and has been corresponding with Sister Kate at Sisters of the Valley (the weed-nuns), since the organization was founded three years ago.

This ex-nun has been very interested in joining the Sisters and helping them with their expansion plans, and the Sisters have organized a job for her at the farm, but housing is an issue.

We have several start-up projects that will all result in making more jobs for more women, er, people.  We have a political action project that is being kicked off next week, we have our spiritual metaphor doll line that is being developed, and our wholesale stores are demanding big orders of sage bundles.

The money we are asking for will help us launch those three projects by providing a roof and warmth to an ex-nun coming out west specifically to help move those projects along.

The funds will be used:

#1 to buy a yurt to act as temporary housing for Sister Sierra (that's $12,500 with all included) and that same yurt will double as a day-time work center for the new jobs we are making,

#2 flight from North Carolina to Fresno, California ($500) and,

#3 furnishings - $1,000 to furnish the yurt and for the materials needed to launch the new work-stations.

If the public meets 85% of these needs, then the Sisters will take care of the balance through our own offerings.  Eighty-five percent of fourteen thousand is $11,900. That's our goal, that's what we need to raise to bring Sister Sierra out west to work as our music director, our spiritual director, and the first pair of hands working in our sewing and sage-making center (the yurt).

The first five people who donate $500 will get a present from the Sisters in the form of the metaphor doll diarama's (three shown above).  After we collect a quantity of five $500 donations, we will declare what our next set of gifts will be for donors of that amount.  We are ever-so grateful for every single donation, regardless if it is only one dollar!  But we need to fast-track this to get her here by winter solstice.  Women around the world are depending on us to make them new jobs in a new industry.  We need big donations and we are ready to give away our Harvest Moon collection of Metaphor Dolls from 2017 in order to help get her here.

Sister Sierra joined the Catholic nuns when she was eighteen years old and went into the wilderness with a group of women to build their own convent, school and church.  She was with them for more than a decade before leaving to pursue Native American spiritual beliefs and practices.  She has a pioneering spirit and is keenly interested in devoting her life to helping us expand our order, to train more women for more jobs with the Sisterhood.

We need help from the community in order to kick-start the growth of the Sisterhood.  We have women around the world (around 10,000 women and men) who have expressed interest in joining our order.  We have serious meetings happening now, in Canada, in England, in New Zealand, in Ireland, in Nigeria, in Portugal, as women's groups (along with their men)  are studying what they need to do to pave the path for a Sisterhood in their neck of the woods.

The Sisters in Merced are juggling a lot of new projects and need Sierra's help.  The world needs the Sisters to keep growing.  And the Sisters deeply appreciate community support as it puts a fire under us to keep us doing better, for you all.  To keep us being more excellent, more grounded, more compassionate, more progressive, more of everything the public needs from their medicine-makers and spiritualists.

We know that there are far too many poor, poor people struggling to keep food and roof's over their heads. Three of the current Sister-Elders of this organization have experienced homelessness directly.  If you want to help us, but can't, please help us by pushing this link around to everyone you know who can help.  Please help us with a prayer and a good thought, if you can't help financially. We appreciate good will, good intentions, and solid community support.  We are grateful to all of those who make this walk possible.  Help bring Sister Sierra here to be with her earth-family, and to start her important wok.
