We lost a four legged friend

Benjamin, AKA Bun Buns, was my mother’s beloved companion for almost 15 years. He was her therapy dog and best friend. In so many ways, he saved her life. He was also my friend, having been part of our family for nearly half my life. It was devastating when we had to put him down yesterday after the vet told us he had cancer which had metastasized heavily throughout his lungs.

It was sudden and it was heartbreaking—one of the hardest things our family has gone through in some time.

Currently, my mother, Lisa, is on disability, having had two knee replacements, a heart attack, cervical cancer, melanoma, and a host of other health issues. The costs associated with bringing Bun Bun’s life to a merciful end has dug a financial hole that our family is struggling to fill. Between the diagnostics and euthanasia, it has cost almost $500.

I have made this page to ask that you help my mother and our family settle this debt. We are all paying the emotional cost of loving a dog. Please help us with the financial cost of loosing one, even if it’s 5 or 10 dollars.
