Since 29 July, 2018, North Lombok has suffered three major earthquakes (magnitude 6.4, 7.0 and 6.2) and a series of aftershocks all over 4 on the Richter scale.

These earthquakes and aftershocks have left over 280,000 people homeless, 400 people killed and 1,100 people seriously injured.

My name is Marina Tayeb, I was born and raised in Bali, and have lived and worked in Lombok and Gili Trawangan for the last five years. The company I work for, Hotel Vila Ombak, has a harbour right in North Lombok. We are using this harbour and our own transportation and logistics team as a centre for coordinating our relief efforts.

We are also in constant communication with the North Lombok locals and receive daily updates of what they need.

Along with Igun Gunadi from Farida Salon in Bali, and the Vice Regional Governor of North Lombok, we have made it our responsibility to collect donations, purchase goods needed, organise transport and logistics from Bali to North Lombok, and operate three Centralised Relief Aid Posts, in Senggigi, Teluk Kombal, the Vice Regional Governor’s Office in Kayangan, and in North Lombok.

From these centralised posts we are distributing supplies all the way up the west coast of Lombok.

We are currently collecting donations of money, medical supplies, food, water, shelter, clothing, sanitation, toiletries and more.

Due to the large area we are covering, we are in constant need of these supplies, so we hope to raise over $10,000 with this GoFundMe account.

Lombok needs:

Food: eggs, rice, fresh fruit and vegetables

Shelter: tarpaulins, rope, tents

Sanitation: soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tissue/toilet paper, washing detergent

These items will be transported to Lombok daily, or when our trucks are full.
