Help reward our WCS Australia teams

$1,500 goal

Created December 28, 2018

SUMMARY:
Every year WCS Australia cosplay competition is held in Sydney, with many teams volunteering their time, effort, & finances towards putting on an incredible show for the Sydney audience.
Most of the volunteers are not professionals, they just want to showcase their love for a story & their crafting abilities to entertain the audience.
There is a substantial amount of volunteered time that the entrants put into this competition & we'd love to have the ability to reward that effort. Unfortunately WCS Australia  is a non-profit organisation that relies on the support of sponsors & memberships to keep the competition running. To-date we haven't been able to fully compensate all our entering teams & have only been able to reward the winners.

OUR GOAL:
Our goal is to create personalised trophies & medals that are high-quality & really make the experience memorable for all our volunteer entrants. As well as use any extra funds raised as prizes for these teams.

MORE ABOUT THE COMPETITION:

WCS Australia is the only non-profit organisation in charge of organising such a big competition Australia wide & we have a dedicated team of volunteers who work very hard to keep it that way. Our competition has been very successful for over +10 years because of this & we would like to keep pushing to improve the experience for all our teams every year. The team that wins our competition we send to Japan with one WCS Australia organiser (who travels at their own expense as a supporting role) to compete against +40 other countries in the biggest cosplay competition in the world; The World Cosplay Summit , held in Tokyo/Nagoya, Japan during their summer season.

Currently the teams are expected to bring a minimum of 6x self-made costumes to the events to help with press, parade, stage events held in Japan. This currently is all done at their own expense. It is 10-days of events on average that the organiser will look after their health & schedule needs whilst overseas. Whilst the event itself is one-of-a-kind, it can be very expensive for the team to provide so many costumes and dedicate their free time to the competition when representing Australia.

As our competition is held every year, we have had multiple Australia teams compete from all over Australia for a chance at representing our country in Japan. As a non-profit organisation we rely on Sponsorship support currently to reward these teams participation, as we wish we could reward all their hard efforts equally.

This is where we’re hoping donations will help us.
