Home Fire Aftermath: Help Our Dad

Some of you already know that this morning my Dad (Wilfredo Paras) suffered a major loss due to a fire. It spread quite rapidly throughout the mobile home and fortunately, he escaped unharmed. The property has been declared a total loss by the Fire Department and now his home of over 20 years is gone, along with practically all of his belongings.

The past couple of years have been rough with the loss of his wife in 2014 and he has slowly been trying to return to normalcy since then. In that time he has been living alone and working graveyard shifts to make ends meet. With the tight budgeting, he did not have insurance, and we now face the following financial obstacles: cleaning and demolishing the property area, temporarily relocating what little items we could salvage, replacing basic living needs such as clothing/shoes, tolietries, etc., temporary lodging, and eventually finding a future home.

My dad has always been a generous man, helping others at almost every occasion even when he has little to offer.  He is an avid contributer of his time to the community, church events and other humanitarian causes (local schools, Knights of Columbus, Don Bosco Alumni and more).  

We have come together as a family in this time of need to ask for help to get him back on his feet, so that he may be able to move on from this tragic event. We appreciate any help, both emotionally and financially from all, and thank you for taking the time to read our story.
