An insulin pump for Peter

Donation protected

My son is 12 years old and is a Type 1 Diabetic. He wears an insulin pump attached to his abdomen continuously. This pump provides a constant dose of insulin to maintain blood sugar levels within normal range. This is an essential life saving medical device for Peter. The NDSS (national diabetes services scheme) were kind enough to provide Peter's first pump for free. The pump is due for replacement in November 2016 at a cost of $8000. At present, there is no funding in place to pay for these pumps.  I am a single mum of 4 children and have very little chance of having this money available by then. As you can see from the pictures above, Peter's health certainly goes up and down. We have come close to losing him a couple of times. Any help, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. This is a constant cause of worry both for me. Peter is only 12 and has every faith in me to be able to provide this pump..and rightly so. I am his mother and being able to care for his health is my job and my responsibility. I hope, that by setting up this page, I am taking steps in the right direction. If we are unable to purchase the new pump next year, Peter will have to go back to a minimum of 5 needles a day and lose the precison type control he has over his illness right now. I thank you for your consideration.
