WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
"I can't define it, I can't tell someone who isn't a cougar what it's like. There's something that happens at Washington State; you quietly and subtly become infected...Washington State is a passion. Being a cougar is a passion" - Jim Walden

The three of us love Washington State University. The Cougar experience is much more than what simply happens in the classroom, and we want to tap into the massive amount of energy and Cougar Pride around the country.

WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE DOING?

Quite simply, we are doing our part to Wave the Flag for the Cougar Family. We will be making the 5,500 mile round trip journey from Pullman, WA to Auburn, AL meeting Coug Alumni and Waving the Flag the entire way. Additionally, we will be bringing the actual Ol' Crimson flag on our trip and will be waiving it all across the country and dropping it off wherever ESPN College Gameday is that week.

HOW ARE WE GETTING THERE?

Short Answer: Kevin's 2004 Ford Escape

Long Answer: By a route that makes its way through 5,500 miles of pavement. By connecting with the WSU Alumni Association we have been able to set up Pit-Stops in the following cities, and are constantly looking for more. Our route takes us through the following cities:

-Pullman, WA
-Boise, ID
-Salt Lake City, UT
-Denver, CO
-Oklahoma City, OK
-Dallas, TX
-Houston, TX
-New Orleans, LA
-Atlanta, GA
-Auburn, AL

WHO ARE WE?

Kevin Massimino - A Senior Sport Management major originally from Kent, Washington. Kevin is a die hard Coug that also serves as the Vice President of the Student Body in Pullman. He also has worked for the WSU Athletic Marketing Department and is a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

Jared Powell - A Senior Political Science - Pre Law and Philosophy major from Vancouver, Washington. As a third generation WSU student, Cougar Pride is in his blood. He is also a member of student government, an Orientation Counselor and a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

Justin Shiver - A Junior Mechanical Engineering major from Ellensburg, Washington. Originally from Milledgeville, Georgia, both of his parents are Auburn Alumni. This won't be his first Auburn game, but it will be his first as a proud Coug! Needless to say there may be a little household rivalry on the line. He is also a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH?

We want to add on to the tradition that is the Wave the Flag Movement. It is such a unique tradition that is one of a kind to Washington State. Several know about the 132 straight College GameDay's that Ol' Crimson has appeared on the set. However, very few know about the hidden costs of keeping this tradition going. Passionate Alumni contribute nearly $1500 annually to cover the expenses of the shipping costs.

Our hope is to raise money to make sure this great tradition continues for the next 132 weeks and beyond. Check out the link at the bottom of the page to donate!

Finally, we want to meet YOU. Some of our best memories of our undergraduate careers thus far have been meeting the Cougs that came before us. By coming together around this trip and waving the flag, we hope to one day get College GameDay to its rightful place in Pullman.
