HELP ME PROVIDE CLEAN WATER TO KIDS IN RURAL VILLAGES

Even though I am but a teenaged boy, and I may not have been on this earth very long, I have been on it long enough to see that there is an evident problem.

We live in a world plagued by much adversity, where the gap in the quality of life between the fortunate and the unfortunate is seemingly just as big as the gap between the dead and the living. I have seen first-hand evidence of this and, I’ve decided that I want to be part of the solution.
One of the greatest injustices I have seen is the lack of access to clean water in many rural villages; which I would say is every human’s natural right. Unsafe drinking water is one of the biggest impediments to childhood development, but sadly, we live in a world where nearly 800 million people do not have access to clean water. Women and children around the world spend nearly 200 million hours each day collecting water, and almost 2.5 billion do not even have access to adequate sanitation.

These conditions put children at huge risk for water-borne illnesses, increase sick days off from school, impede the learning process and continue the vicious cycle of illiteracy and poverty. Together, We can break that cycle by making clean water available to all those around the world who have been denied it for so long.

I have travelled through much of Africa; Nigeria particularly, and I have seen with my own eyes how deplorable conditions are in many areas. My philosophy is that every single day you wake, you should do something to give back to the world. Today I’ve decided to do something big, and I want you to be a part of it.

My plan is to raise enough money to go into these rural villages, starting in Nigeria, and drill bore holes. A borehole, very similar to a well, is a deep, narrow hole made in the ground in order to locate clean water.

With this project, together we will be able to provide entire villages with clean water, and maybe even in the long run, entire countries!

The question of how to solve the poverty crisis facing our world has been plaguing our society for too long, and I have concluded that WATER IS THE ANSWER

The borehole has been operational for a little while now and things continue to go well. People are sourcing clean water and are exceedingly grateful. I will post some updated pictures of the borehole in use as well as actual pictures of what the alternative was prior to this borehole. Stay tuned for further details on our next project. We are doing a needs assessment now for yet another borehole and I will keep you in the loop. Once again I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind donations.

The rainy season is over in Nigeria and we are getting ready to drill our first borehole. Our plans have been drawn and the borehole will include concrete work, electricals powered by generator to pump the water from the bore hole and plumbing so the villagers can access the clean water from three separate pipes. We are even hoping to tile the floor of the water stand. As recent news has shown, access to clean water is essential for productivity and health. I will keep you updated with pictures and progress reports once the drilling begins on Tuesday. Thank you for your support.
