Water for the Those People

Across the street is a house full of people on the margin. They do all the bad things people on the margins do. They make bad decisions. Nobody on the street likes them. They also don't have water.

Though it is complex and uncomfortable to feel, Christ has put his love for them in my heart and now I am compelled to take action. I am trying to raise the money to have their water turned back on. I believe the gift of water is the present Christ would like to give them this Christmas season, along with the message that they are seen. They are valuable. They are loved. There is a plan and a purpose for their lives and God is with them, even now. 

While I don't believe this would change much, you never know what the littlest bit of hope and light will do in the middle of dark places. I know it would make my heart burst with joy to deliver a paid water bill along with the other (and much more important) message that they are loved, despite their present condition.  

So I'm asking you to help me help these people. Not because they deserve it or are doing the things we would judge positively. But because Jesus Christ has compelled me to. I don't know why. As I've said, these people are pretty lost. There's a tremendously long journey for each of them to walk out of where they are and getting water certainly isn't going to take them all that way. But it might be the smallest start. I know these people need more than words. 

I ask you to ask yourself (or God if you believe in God) if it would also bless you to help me in this? If so, would you please contribute what you can? Heck - contribute even if you wouldn't get a thing out of it! Mainly because I'm really hoping for this miracle of help and hope and light in a dark place! Please pray for me and them, or send good wishes, or whatever it is you do.
